Project 01 | Media Diary

Creating a media diary was one of the first projects we were assigned in CPMS100. I chose to showcase this project because I love the layout I made to display my information. The number of hours on the left and the percentages on the bottom contain few words and allow the viewer to easily process the data. I also chose my media diary because it has changed a lot in about a year. This proves to me that media trends are always changing and so are the ways we consume those trends. Now, with almost two more semesters worth of knowledge, I am able to dissect even further to understand the effects media has on individuals and society as a whole.

Project 02 | Media Scholars Ad

This is an ad aimed at prospective students. This ad was made this semester in CPMS225. I decided to display this project because it connects my interest in marketing with the knowledge and techniques I have learned in Scholars. Looking at the ad in detail, I believe that the bright colors draw the viewer in. Once the viewer’s attention is on the ad, they read the text. The text uses strong and inviting words, convincing prospective students to really consider Media, Self and Society because to experience the community and comfortability that comes along with it.

Project 03 | Freshman Day in the Life

The video to the left was my submission for the final project in CPMS100. This video was made with two of my fellow Media Scholars students: Leah Packer and Ethan Jenkins. I chose to include this video for a few reasons. For one, as mentioned earlier, this video was made with two other students. We worked incredibly well together and respected each other's opinions and abilities. Working collaboratively is such an important part of Media Scholars, the business school, and for the future. I also decided to show this video because I wanted to incorporate projects of different mediums. Producing a video requires a whole different skill set than creating a graphic. Hopefully these other skills are noticeable when watching the Freshman Day in the Life video.
